Trees for Transition - Working woodlands for a sustainable future

Carbon Modelling

GlenridingThere are methods of modelling the carbon emission and sequestration of land under varying landuse scenarios. By taking an overall view of the land holding, different landuses can be evaluated to design the optimal strategy for carbon management.

Different management options for existing woods will yield different carbon profiles. Strategic woodland creation can improve the carbon balance of your land and also address other issues like shelter, erosion, nitrogen leaching and run-off, ammonia emissions.
